Dr. Antani is a board certified Interventional Radiologist, with over 10 years of experience treating varicose veins and venous reflux disease. He has performed over 10,000 vein procedures, and trains other physicians in the skills needed to successfully treat varicose veins.
After finishing medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, he did a residency at the University of Minnesota, followed by a fellowship in interventional radiology.
From 2001 to 2008, he was a staff attending physician at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, where he performed thousands of minimally invasive procedures, in a wide variety of patients, with excellent results. In 2008, he founded The Vein Center at Center for Interventional Medicine in White Plains, MD, in the beautiful new Fairview Office Park. In 2011 Dr. Antani started Center for Interventional Medicine in Burke, VA. At both locations, Dr. Antani and his staff provide advanced, expert care for varicose veins.Dr. Antani is certfied by the American Board of Radiology as an interventional radiologist, which is the highest level of certification in this field. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Radiologic Society of North America, and MedChi, the Maryland State Medical Society. He serves on the editorial boards of several scientific newsletters and journals, and is a frequently gives talks at various scientific meetings in the area of varicose vein treatments.
Marijo Cosmas MS, RN, CRNP-AC is an acute care Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years specializing in vascular disorders.
Her practice includes the evaluation and management of persons with arterial disease such as peripheral arterial disease (PAD), carotid disease, and aneuysms and venous disease, to include varicose veins.
In addition to over 20 years experience in Nursing Administration, her clinical areas of expertise have included critical care, oncology/hematology, vascular surgery, and interventional radiology.
Ms. Cosmas received her Nursing Diploma from Evanston Hospital School of Nursing in Evanston, Illinois, her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and both her Master of Science degree in Nursing with a major in Nursing Administration and Nurse Practitioner from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
Ms. Cosmas has additional training and experience in vascular ultrasound, endovenous ablation procedures for varicose veins, as a Registered Nurse First Assist in the operating room, and is certified to insert PICC (peripherally inserted central) lines.
She is a member of the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians, the Society for Vascular Nursing and the American College of Phlebology.
Wanda Bowie joined Center for Interventional Medicine in the summer of 2009 as a Clinical Coordinator. You will often see Wanda greeting you at the front desk at our White Plains office and taking care of all scheduling matters for our offices. When Wanda isn't greeting you, she's performing other responsibilities including billing, insurance verifications. In her spare time her most precious moments are found spending time with family and friends and enjoying the simple things in life, such as her love of photography.
Cheryl Goldsmith is a Emergency Medical Technician. She joined Center for Interventional Medicine in the fall of 2009. She has eight years of experience as a Medical Assistant. You will see Cheryl assisting the physician with patients' needs and working alongside the physician during the procedure. Her duties include Patient comfort & assisting the physicians in procedures such as the VNUS Closure procedure,sclerotherapy, Vertebroplasty, & UFE. In her spare time away from work she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteerning at the local rescue squad.
